Port St. Lucie

Abdominoplasty Port St. Lucie Florida performed by Dr John L. Porcaro, Board Certified by The American Board of Cosmetic Surgery*, is an operation designed to remove the excess skin from your abdomen and tighten your abdominal muscles.

A Tummy Tuck operation is indicated in cases where there is weakness of the abdominal wall, resulting in bulging of the abdominal wall muscles. The amount of fat that is removed with this operation is variable; some patients have a large apron of fat-the panniculus- that hangs in the lower abdomen while other patients just have excess skin and virtually no fat.

Unlike Liposculpture or laser lipolysis, which only remove fat, Abdominoplasty Port St. Lucie Florida involves the removal of excess skin, a variable amount of fat and tightening of the abdominal wall muscles. For this reason, it is a more extensive procedure than Liposculpture or laser lipolysis. The actual extent of surgery will depend on the amount of excess skin and the laxity of your abdominal muscles.

There are many names to describe the extent of an abdominoplasty procedure, which may only involve a limited area below the umbilicus a-“mini”, or a “maxi” that may include resection of skin extending around to the back.

A modification of the standard Tummy Tuck Port St. Lucie Florida called the Avelar lipoabdominoplasty, combines skin excision and muscle tightening with abdominal liposuction.

At Porcaro Cosmetic Surgery the Lipoabdominoplasty is Dr Porcaro’s preferred tummy tuck procedure for most patients because it results in more dramatic & refined body sculpting, related to the additional liposculpting when compared to the standard abdominoplasty procedure.

How Dr Porcaro Performs Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck):

Both the standard Abdominoplasty as well as the Avelar lipoabdominoplasty are safely and comfortably carried out by Dr John L. Porcaro, Board Certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery*, under local tumescent anesthesia with intravenous sedation in our AAAHC accredited Porcaro Cosmetic Surgery Facility in Port St Lucie.

The incision is made in your bikini line and your excess skin is removed. Fat is removed by liposuction. Your umbilicus (belly button) may need to be repositioned depending on the extent of your tummy tuck procedure. Your abdominal wall muscles are tightened. Your skin is carefully redraped and the incision is closed with absorbable sutures.

Dr Porcaro will carefully examine you at the time of your private complimentary consultation and recommend the right procedure for you based on your age, health, expectations and your physical examination.
