Chiropractors, who are Nonphysicians, market a “laser” to “shed unwanted belly fat”. Unfortunately, this ” Laser” is actually not a laser, but an infrared lamp per the FDA! the Lapex 2000 has an FDA indication “for the temporary relief of hand and wrist pain associated with carpal Tunnel Syndrome”! There is no FDA indication to use this device in the treatment of unwanted fat!
Liposuction, liposculpture and authentic lasers, such as the Lipotherme, are FDA approved for the treatment of unwanted fat. These time tested medical procedures, typically performed by surgeons, are not performed for weight reduction but rather to treat fat that is not amenable to diet and exercise.
As appealing as it may be, it simply doesn’t make sense to expect the Lapex 2000 or any other unproven device to “shed unwanted belly fat effortlessly”.
