For the third time, Dr Porcaro participated as an oral examiner for the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery(ABCS) annual exam for Board Certification in Cosmetic Surgery, which took place on Oct 17, 2004 in Dallas, Texas.
The requirements to sit for this Board examination are quite extensive. Candidates, who are already Board Certified in a related specialty such as plastic surgery, general surgery or facial plastic surgery, must have completed a yearlong fellowship in cosmetic surgery. Candidates must also submit a surgical log demonstrating that they have completed at least 300 major cosmetic surgical procedures along with before and after photos. Candidates for Board Certification in Cosmetic Surgery must also pass a comprehensive written and oral examinations.
The American Board of Cosmetic Surgery is the only Board that exclusively tests a surgeon’s knowledge and experience in cosmetic surgery. Dr Porcaro successfully completed the requirements for Board Certification in Cosmetic Surgery in 2011. Although Porcaro Cosmetic surgery is located in Port St Lucie, Florida, we regularly treat patients from Stuart and Vero Beach, Florida.
