Obagi Blue Peels
Port St. Lucie

At Porcaro Cosmetic Surgery we are pleased to offer you the Obagi Blue Peel and the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance.

The Obagi Blue Peel involves the use of Trichloracetic acid (TCA) in various strengths, mixed with a Blue Dye. The Blue Dye enables Dr Porcaro to determine the precise depth of penetration of the TCA, ensuring your maximum safety.

This Obagi Blue Peel is indicated for the treatment of acne comedones and sun spots, epidermal and dermal pigmentation problems, fine lines and wrinkles, large pores and certain scars. It can result in skin tightening and moderate skin leveling.

Although burning will occur for several minutes, the physician administration of The Obagi Blue Peel typically does not require your sedation and takes less than an hour.

The Obagi Blue Peel is suitable for facial and non-facial skin and most skin types. There’s no risk of systemic toxicity with TCA, as is the case with the stronger and more dangerous Phenol peels.

Your skin needs to be “prepped” with the Obagi Nu-Derm System for 6-8 weeks before the Blue Peel is administered.

You must allow about 7-10 days to recover from the Blue Peel because the entire outside layer of your skin will slough off. As the old skin is shed, it will be replaced by new, healthy beautiful skin. You will be provided with instructions on the care of your skin after undergoing an Obagi Blue Peel

A properly administered Obagi Blue Peel will typically result in a very nice degree of improvement, not unlike more expensive laser procedures, that typically costs three times as much as the Obagi Blue Peel. Some patients benefit from a second Blue Peel months later.

The Obagi Blue Peel Radiance is a more mild peel that results in minimal down time for you and typically requires a number of sessions. Depending on the indication for the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance, you will typically undergo 3 or more sessions, two weeks apart. Mild improvement is expected with each treatment.
