Port St. Lucie
Dr John L. Porcaro, Board Certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery*, performs Eyelid Surgery Port St. Lucie Florida or blepharoplasty. This procedure restores a more youthful and “less tired” look for you by correcting your sagging, or drooping eyelids. Your bags and bulges around your eyes can also be improved. These bulges typically develop as a result of laxity of the eyelid skin and sometimes from protrusion of fat around the eyes.
Eyelid Surgery Port St. Lucie Florida is not limited to older patients, as many individuals inherit a predisposition toward development of fat pouches at an early age. Excess skin is treated by excision, laser resurfacing or chemical peels at Porcaro Cosmetic Surgery.
Key Benefits of Blepharoplasty by Dr Porcaro:
- local anesthetic with oral or IV sedation
- no need for additional risk or expense of general anesthesia
- easily performed in AAAHC accredited facility
- incision made in natural skin crease
- quick recovery
- back to light duty after 1 week
- single suture removed in 6 days
- can be performed at time of face lift or filler injections
How Dr. Porcaro Performs Blepharoplasty:
You will take a sleeping pill when you come for the procedure and have an intravenous inserted “just in case” when having an upper blepharoplasty. Dr Porcaro will carefully mark your excess skin before the procedure. Your eyelid skin will be put to sleep with a local anesthetic. Your excess skin and any excess fat you have will be removed from an incision in your natural skin crease, leaving no noticeable scar.
With lower eyelid surgery, you will receive a local anesthetic and IV sedation. When the quality of your lower eyelid skin is reasonably good the excess fat of the lower eyelid can be removed thru a small incision in the inside of your lower lid, so it’s possible to treat this area without any incision on the outside!
If you have no significant skin redundancy, your excess lower eyelid fat can be delivered thru micro incisions made directly over the fat pads, leading to an excellent cosmetic result without the risks inherent with skin removal of the lower eyelid.
As another alternative to the older approach of creating a “skin-muscle flap” in the lower eyelid and removing excess lower eyelid skin, you may be a candidate for a less invasive procedure. This consists of removal of the lower eyelid fat through on incision on the inside of the lower eyelid and a “pinch blepharoplasty” removing only the excess skin of the lower eyelid and not damaging the underlying muscle.
At the time of you consultation, Dr. Porcaro will recommend the approach that is best for you.
